Well folks, here it is, the dive into the world of twelve from Incarnam. I'm certain a couple of people have seen me around Astrub. There's a ton of stuff to cover, so let's start from the beginning. Here we go!
In summary, I took the plunge and landed on top of Mount Zinit where I met what could best be described as a Cra in a Box, which was none other than the Messenger of the Gods. I also met the head owl and was given a choice: Go with the Owl or go confront Ogrest.
I chose the latter and was promptly backhanded off the mountain and woke up with the owls and offered to choose my nation.
Upon said choice, I took the express ride down to Astrub and wandered around, killing, questing, joined a nation officially, did the quests to ride the Black Purr, found a Bow Meow and now have two mouths to feed, rode on the Black Purr, did the questline in Zinit then went back to my new nation and worked on Professions.
Like I said a lot of stuff and I'm being a bit brief because I wanted to go into depth on a few things this week.
First, per suggestions from viewers, the nation I chose was Brakmar. I honestly have to say it's been a very fun place for me so far and it's normally the nation Ankama chooses for where their Sacriers come from (*cough* per Wakfu CCG and Kriss Le Krass *cough*). I had also read a few comments about the over population of Bonta which just made Brakmar even more inviting as it does have a population but it's not overpopulated in my opinion.
Second, I had mentioned choosing a branch for my Sacrier and announcing it this post as well. That is and isn't going to happen. My initial choice was Fire, as I found it to be a decent leveler.
...until I went to Mourning Wood...
At which point I've come to the conclusion Fire is NOT an effective leveler. So I fell back on Air and have been leveling my skills for that branch, however, I am finding air meh which is funny because I loved it in Dofus. I might still go that route but we'll see. However, it appears that right now and at least until next reset, I will be focusing on an Earth Build. I just hope there is some improvements to Fire to make leveling it not so painful on a low to mid leveler.
Third, I promised my insight on the three branches and how they level. As far as speed in leveling Air is the fastest, followed by Fire, and then Earth. However, the speed drop from air to fire is minimal compared to the drop from fire to earth. Earth is literally the slowest leveling experience I've had in Wakfu so far. However the reward is definitely there. If you're patient I recommend earth, if you're not I recommend air, if you're off your rocker, I recommend...well, going earth or air.
Fire requires a lot of backing to correctly work in the form of bread and group leveling. It does have the most damage of all the branches, it's just it has no staying power for leveling as fast as it's full potential should allow without backing.
I know someone will probably mention the Fire Guide on the community forums. I'm sure that it's a great guide but it's a hybrid guide and I'm only evaluating the branches on a pure one branch level.
Besides, if I was to go hybrid, it wouldn't be until I've maxxed all the branches.
Now, that I've offered my opinion on the branches, let me offer some opinions on what happened this weekend.
First, I found Fleaster a bit of a bust. I'm sorry, but it's really hard to read posts about enjoy your Fleaster when all it was, was a set of armor and chocolates with no chance to try for the title.
Second, The mount Zinit quest series was AWESOME!!! I highly suggest anyone who hasn't tried it to do so. I'd definitely recommend it to new players as well as long as you go there around level 10 or higher. Oh and bring plenty of packspace.
Which brings up another thing: Packspace! The starting amount is no where near what is needed as soon as you get out of Incarnam.
Especially when you craft. I find crafting fun but very demanding on packspace. I've been focusing on most the skills, though I like cooking, but find Baking a must at present for leveling.
Well, that's it for now but I do plan on broadening on things over the course of this week. Until then, hope your adventures have been as plentiful as mine.
